One of my communities at school it is called Hender Captain or a Monti Captain. When you first come to our school there is a gathering where you pick a color out of a basket, and it determines if you are a Hender or a Monti. The two colors are gray and maroon. Grey is for Henders. Maroon is for Montis. At the end of the year, we have an all school tug of war day and we have the Henders vs. the Montis. I was picked a Hender when I first came and I have been ever since. Then once you get into the middle school you have the option to be a Hender or Monti Captain. For example, we help manage the gatherings, and recently we worked on the school food drive. We also have meetings every once in a while, and that is where we decide discussions.

Another one of my communities is the Soccer team. In the beginning of the year, we start the soccer season. Anyone from 3rd grade and up can sign up. I started playing soccer when I was little for a community around me, but eventually I got too old for that so I started to play soccer for my school. I started to play once I was in 3rd grade and I plan to stay for the rest of the time I’m at my school. This season we started out pretty rough, but towards the end, we got it together and did awesome.

My last community is Basketball at school. It starts in the middle of the school year, we start to practice for the Basketball season, everyone 4th grade and up can play. I have never played basketball before until 6th grade. I played basketball and I found it super fun; I plan to play it every year. We just had our first game recently, and we plan to have more games soon!
